M ay 2 00 4 Diagonalization of replicated transfer matrices for disordered Ising spin systems

چکیده
We present an alternative procedure for solving the eigenvalue problem of replicated transfer matrices describing disordered spin systems with (random) 1D nearest neighbor bonds and/or random fields, possibly in combination with (random) long range bonds. Our method is based on transforming the original eigenvalue problem for a 2 n × 2 n matrix (where n → 0) into an eigenvalue problem for integral operators. We first develop our formalism for the Ising chain with random bonds and fields, where we recover known results. We then apply our methods to models of spins which interact simultaneously via a one-dimensional ring and via more complex long-range connectivity structures, e.g. 1 + ∞ dimensional neural networks and 'small world' magnets. Numerical simulations confirm our predictions satisfactorily.

We calculate equilibrium solutions for Ising spin models on 'small world' lattices, which are constructed by superimposing random and sparse Poissonian graphs with finite average connectivity c onto a one-dimensional ring. The nearest neighbour bonds along the ring are ferromagnetic, whereas those corresponding to the Poisonnian graph are allowed to be random. Our models thus generally contain ...
متن کاملReplica structure of one-dimensional disordered Ising models
– We analyse the eigenvalue structure of the replicated transfer matrix of onedimensional disordered Ising models. In the limit of n → 0 replicas, an infinite sequence of transfer matrices is found, each corresponding to a different irreducible representation (labelled by a positive integer ρ) of the permutation group. We show that the free energy can be calculated from the replica-symmetric su...

Braid matricesˆR(θ), corresponding to vector representations, are spectrally decomposed obtaining a ratio f i (θ)/f i (−θ) for the coefficient of each projector P i appearing in the decomposition. This directly yields a factorization (F (−θ)) −1 F (θ) for the braid matrix, implying also the relationˆR(−θ) ˆ R(θ) = I.This is achieved for GL q (n), SO q (2n + 1), SO q (2n), Sp q (2n) for all n an...

A star-triangle mapping transformation is used to establish an exact correspondence between the spin-1/2 Ising model on the Shastry-Sutherland (orthogonal-dimer) lattice and respectively, the spin-1/2 Ising model on a bathroom tile (4-8) lattice. Exact results for the critical temperature and spontaneous magnetization are obtained and compared with corresponding results on the regular Ising lat...
